August marks the last full month of summer here in the United States. Many of us with children are gearing up for back to school events while others, with or without children, are scrambling to fit in last minute summer vacations. At the Tar Valon Times we’re already looking ahead to October when we’ll bring you a special spooky-themed issue just in time for Shaoman. But that’s still two months away and we have lots of great things to bring you in this issue of the TVT!

This month our intrepid Reporters bring you a wide variety of articles. We have our regular interview features, lots of articles about video games and books, a beer review, a peek into the Olde Warder and Hen, and more! This month the Amyrlin drops in to give an update on the progress of the site-wide re-readalong, we learn about one member’s costume-making skills, and the winners of the Coloring Contest are revealed. We also provide a bit of armchair travel with the start of a two new series: Holidays Around the World and World Tour. And our Global Issues series continues with a look at the plight of refugees.

We hope you enjoy this jam-packed issue of the TVT!
