Interview Questions

Have you modded any games at Tar Valon? If so, what ones?

Yes I have! The first game I modded was Star Wars: Thrawn vs. the New Republic, set in the time of the Thrawn trilogy by Timothy Zahn. I tried out some experimental things and it was a ton of fun for me. I've also modded another experimental Star Wars themed game, loosely based on the X-Wing series of books. I've modded one Assassins game as well, Firefly/Serenity themed. In some ways, I've found modding can be a lot more stressful than just playing, but it is really fun to see everything behind the scenes.

What is your favourite game that you have played here?

I've played so many that they kind of blur together by now! I enjoy games where I like the theme, especially when the mod incorporates the theme well. I also enjoy games where I end up being on the winning team, naturally.

Do you prefer to be town or mafia?

Either role has the potential to be a lot of fun! I haven't been mafia very often, but I think I like being mafia better than innocent, because then I'm not confused about who is what. I don't have to wonder who's innocent. Of course, I seem to get caught as mafia pretty easily!

What is your favourite role?

In all the games I've played, I haven't had a lot of special roles. It seems that on the rare occasion I do have a special role, I die early. So, no preference so far! I think it'd be really fun to be the cop, though, and way too much pressure to be the doctor!

Who is your favourite person to lynch and why?

Hmm. I don't feel like I have one favorite person to lynch. The game has changed a lot over time, and the players change too, so my favorite person to lynch changes game to game.

Mafia tidbit of the month:

Lyncher – This is a third party role that has only one win condition, to lynch a specific person (or people). There are some variances in how the role is handled, such as if their target is night killed, but if the lyncher is not on the successful lynch train of their target(s) they lose. In some games the lyncher will actually leave the game once their win condition is completed then be announced as a joint-winner later.
