Mardecin

Mardecin is a large village in Amadicia, nearly a mile across, the first after the border from Tarabon on the road from Tanchico. It lies between two hills, with a small bridged stream running through it and has a mix of slate and thatched roofs (TFoH, Ch. 8). The buildings are mostly stone, and the streets are paved with worn granite slabs (TFoH, Ch. 9). Once the trade into Tarabon died, the town itself began to do so as well, with shops and smithies being abandoned (TFoH, Ch. 9). Nynaeve and Elayne are captured by Ronde Macura in the town; she feeds them forkroot, but with Thom and Juilin's help, they escape (TFoH, Ch. 8; Ch. 9).
