Unless stated otherwise, all information herein is taken from A Memory of Light, Chapter 37.
Ronja was an Aiel blinded in the fighting at the Battle of Merrilor. Berelain asks him to fetch gai'shain to help in the fight. He tells them they will not fight, even if commanded by the car'a'carn. He tells her that if he had his eyes restored, he would rather put them out than watch gai'shain fight.
