Shienaran Bloody Flaming Flat Bread

Ingredients:

1 package of yeast

1/2 cup warm water (must not be hot, just slightly warm)

3 cups all purpose flour

1 1/4 tsp salt

1 sp sugar

1 cup lukewarm water

Method:

Add sugar to the half cup of warm water, and add in your yeast. Let the yeast sit in the water for about ten minutes- until a frothy layer has formed.

Combine flour and salt in large bowl. Make a small hole in the middle of the flour/salt mixture with your hands and pour the yeast water into the hole. Slowly add the other cup of water and stir with a wooden spoon until the dough becomes elasticy.

Knead the dough on a floured surface for ten to fifteen minutes. You will know its done when its no longer sticky and feels smooth to touch. Coat a bowl with vegetable oil and place the dough inside the bowl. Rub the dough into the sides of the bowl so that the all of the dough has been coated in the oil. Allow the dough to sit in a warm place for about 3 hours- it will be ready when it has doubled in size.

After the dough has risen, roll the dough into a rope and break into ten small pieces. Preheat your oven to 500 degrees with your baking stone already inside of it and place your rack at the lowest part of your oven. You can use a baking sheet, but a pizza stone or a stone cookie sheet works best.

Flour a large surface, such as a clean counter top and roll out the dough into circles. Start rolling your dough out- the circle should be about 5-6 inches across and 1/4 thick. Bake each circle for about 4 minutes. The dough will puff up slightly.

Let the bread cool for a few minutes and put into airtight bags for storage as soon as possible. Can be stored for about a week or so and freezes well.

Okay, so this recipe isn't actually bloody or flaming but its keeps well when travelling on horseback and provides warriors with the fuel they will need to prepare for Tarmon Gai'don. Enjoy, and may peace favor your sword!
