==Note from the Brown Mind==

In typical Brown fashion, the October Brown Bulletin is late. I would offer an apology, dear readers, but I feel as though you have almost come to expect it from me. No matter! I present another short missive detailing some of the absent-mindedness ramblings of our Ajah. In the Northern hemisphere the weather is turning colder, which for me means colder rains and for others means the beginnings of snow, so I invite you to curl up with a cup of tea and read on.

We had a fairly quiet October, but a few of our Sisters and Guests had birthdays! Please join me in wishing a very happy birthday to our October babies!

==Brown Outs==
"I was eating my lunch today and had my phone propped up to read stuff. I start looking around for my yogurt. I could swear I packed one. I couldn't find it. I finish the rest of my lunch and then go to put my phone away. It had been propped up by my yogurt."

"I constantly forget my umbrella at work. I don’t want to lose it because it’s really sturdy and I live in a rainy part of the world but darn it, I cannot seem to remember to take the blasted thing home with me."

This fall treat seems to get a little excessive in North American culture, with pumpkin spice *everything* seeming to invade our lives once September hits. I polled the Browns about this, and the general consensus is that it’s fine as a treat, but it’s nothing that spectacular. However, I wonder. Is this just a North American thing, or has the Pumpkin Spice craze continued its unstoppable spread to the rest of the world? Do you enjoy it, or could you simply not care less? Discuss!
