Rainyn is a [[Windfinder]] on one of the [[Sea Folk]]'s smaller vessels. She is young and apple-cheeked with half a dozen ornaments on her nose chain. She is as strong as [[Lelaine]] or [[Romanda]] ([[The Path of Daggers: Chapter 2|TPoD, Ch. 2]]; [[Knife of Dreams: Chapter 32|KoD, Ch. 32]]).

First it is said that she works on a darter, the Sea Folk's smallest of vessels ([[The Path of Daggers: Chapter 2|TPoD, Ch. 2]]) and later she is referred to as serving on a soarer ([[Winter's Heart: Chapter 11|WH, Ch. 11]]).

==Timeline==

* Although not directly mentioned at the time, she is one of the twenty Windfinders to accompany [[Nynaeve]] and [[Lan]] to the Tarasin Palace as agreed to in the Bargain with the Mistress of the Ships ([[A Crown of Swords: Chapter 37|ACoS, Ch. 37]]). On [[Renaile]]'s agreement the Windfinders accompany [[Elayne]] and Nynaeve wherever they will go to activate the [[Bowl of the Winds]] ([[A Crown of Swords: Chapter 39|ACoS, Ch. 39]]).

* Among the group of Windfinders, she rides through [[Aviendha]]'s gateway from the Tarasin Palace to [[the Kin]]'s farm ([[The Path of Daggers: Chapter 1|TPoD, Ch. 1]]; [[The Path of Daggers: Chapter 3|Ch. 3]]), where they arrive already so bruised from riding that Nynaeve Heals them ([[The Path of Daggers: Chapter 4|TPoD, Ch. 4]]).

* She is part of the circle that activates the Bowl of the Winds ([[The Path of Daggers: Chapter 5|TPoD, Ch. 5]]).

* When the [[Seanchan]] attack the farm ([[The Path of Daggers: Chapter 6|TPoD, Ch. 6]]), she Travels with the others to [[Andor]], riding toward [[Caemlyn]] ([[The Path of Daggers: Chapter 20|TPoD, Ch. 20]]) and eventually arrives at the Royal Palace ([[The Path of Daggers: Chapter 28|TPoD, Ch. 28]]).

* She is present at Nynaeve's lessons with the apprentices. She is the only one to show at least a little sympathy for Nynaeve ([[Winter's Heart: Chapter 11|WH, Ch. 11]]).

* She is present when [[Birgitte]] demands a gateway big enough for a thousand soldiers of [[Chanelle]] and the Windfinders when Elayne is captured by the [[Black Ajah]] ([[Knife of Dreams: Chapter 32|KoD, Ch. 32]]).

'Renaile din Calon Blue Star,' she said stiffly, 'demands that you snub in the Aiel woman, Elayne Aes Sedai.' Aviendha grinned toothily at her, and Rainyn must have been watching at least a little, because her cheeks reddened beneath the sheen of sweat.<br>
'Tell Renaile that Aviendha is not Aes Sedai,' Elayne replied. 'I will ask her to be careful,' no lie there; she had, and would again, 'but I can't make her do anything.' On impulse, she added, 'You know how Aiel are.' The Sea Folk had some very odd ideas of how the Aiel were. Rainyn stared wide-eyed at a still-grinning Aviendha, her face going gray, then jerked her horse around and galloped back to Renaile, bouncing in her saddle."
