Rylen t'Boriden Rashad was the first king of Saldaea. Along with leaders in the other Borderland provinces, he seized power shortly after Hawkwing's death so that they could better defend the Blight without getting involved in the struggles that overtook the southern nations (The Wheel of Time Roleplaying Game).
