The Flame of Tar Valon is the symbol of Tar Valon, the Amyrlin Seat, and the Aes Sedai. It is also one of the titles of the Amyrlin Seat (NS, Ch. 14). It is a stylized representation of a flame; a white teardrop with the point upward (TWoRJTWoT, Ch. 24). Servants in the Tower wear the symbol (NS, Ch. 3) as do the Tower Guard (NS, Ch. 4). Aes Sedai have the flame in the middle of the back on their shawl TGS, Ch. 4).
