Aeldra Najaf

General

Aeldra Najaf was Tamra Ospenya's second Keeper, after Gitara Moroso died. She was raised from the Blue Ajah, as was her predecessor. Unlike Gitara, her stole is no more than two finger widths wide. (New Spring, Chapter 7.)

Aeldra is lean, with a narrow jaw and a sharp nose. Her skin is coppery, but turned almost to leather from exposure to the sun and wind. Moiraine thinks that she assuredly has never been called a beauty. (New Spring, Chapter 7.)

Not much detail is given to Aeldra's personality, but it can be easily deduced that she is kind from the way that she smiles 'kindly' at Moiraine several times throughout the book. (New Spring, Chapter 7.)

Timeline

• Aeldra is raised as Keeper (New Spring, Chapter 7.)
• Aeldra catches Moiraine spying outside the Amyrlin's study. (New Spring, Chapter 7.)
• Aeldra welcomes Moiraine and Siuan to the Blue Ajah. She is the sixth sister to welcome them, and thus both Moiraine and Siuan must bake her a pie with their own hands. (New Spring, Chapter 11.)
• Aeldra is no longer Keeper after Tamra dies. (New Spring, Chapter 14.)

Relationships

Aeldra seems to have a good relationship with Tamra; there is never any mention of arguments between them, and after what happened with Gitara, Tamra would have felt that she had to raise a Keeper whom she could trust.

She also has a good relationship with her Blue Sisters. There is some joking going on about the pie custom after Moiraine and Siuan are raised. (New Spring, Chapter 11.) She is also kind to Moiraine.
