Aldred Gomaisen is a mercenary whom Elayne hires to defend Caemlyn; he is a short, slender, Cairhien native who wears the front of his head shaved. He wears more stripes on his coat than Elayne thinks he has a right to wear. Birgitte is taller than him when she wears her heeled boots (KoD, Ch. 16).
Timeline
- Gomaisen repeats the rumor that the Tower has been broken to Elayne, Sareitha and Careane (KoD, Ch. 16).
- Gomaisen and the other mercenaries try to get Elayne to pay them more gold than she agreed to but she refuses (KoD, Ch. 16).
- Gomaisen betrays Elayne and switches sides to fight for Arymilla (KoD, Ch. 35).
- Elayne signs a death warrant for Gomaisen (KoD, Ch. 35).
