Algwyn was the last Emperor of Seanchan to sit on the Crystal Throne, nine hundred years ago (WH, Ch. 14; KoD, Epilogue).
Many of the Blood have thought him mad, because he did not punish his Soe'feia after she slapped him in front of the entire court (WH, Ch. 14).
