Thom mentions Anla to the folks of Emond's Field; he says he will tell them The Thousand Tales of Anla, the Wise Counselor (TEOTW: 4). When Elayne and Thom are speaking on the way to Tanchico, he mentions Anla again, wondering aloud if she was really the Wise Counselor, and if she was really sister to Elsbet, queen of the world (TSR: 20).
