General
Anya is one of Lan's serving women in the Aesdaishar Palace in the "New Spring" novel. She is square-faced with gray hair (NS, Ch. 22).

- Lan thinks that she might be Esne's mother (NS, Ch. 22).
- Has been placed to serve Lan, because she is fully conversant (NS, Ch. 22).
- Sends Esne for an ointment to cure Lan's welts (NS, Ch. 22).
