Arendor Haevin was the guardian of Catalyn Haevin, High Seat of House Haevin, until just recently. At the Feast of Lights, he told Catalyn that she was as ready as she would ever be, and she might as well have free reign now as in a year. Catalyn thinks that, in truth, he just wants more time to go hunting (CoT, Ch. 13). Elayne thinks to herself that Catalyn is still long months short of her majority, though her guardian had abandoned her to go her own way (KoD, Ch. 17).
He has always loved to hunt (CoT, Ch. 13).
Catalyn refers to him as "quite old", even though he's only about the age of Dyelin Taravin (CoT, Ch. 13).
