Basharande was one of the nations of the Free Era. It was located in the northern part of the Westlands. It was one of the then Borderlands, and its northern border touched the mountains in several places, although it also contained a number of southward bulges of varying size. All of the borders that did not reach the mountains were within sight of them. To the east was Elsalam, with Abayan to the southwest and Indrahar and Oburun to the south.
