Carlin was one of Perrin's uncles. He died before Padan Fain killed the rest of the Aybara family. He was married to Neain, with whom he had two children, now all dead (TSR, Ch. 29).
Neain used to visit Carlin's grave every morning (TSR, Ch. 29).
Neain is now buried next to Carlin's older grave on the Aybara farm (TSR, Ch. 40).
