Coteran is an Asha'man who is one of Mazrim Taim's cronies. When Androl sees the men practicing using the Power, Coteren is overseeing the work and objects to the use of the Two Rivers bow by the Two Rivers men and tells them the M'Hael will hear of it. He decides to bully Androl and almost provokes a conflict between the men loyal to Taim and those loyal to Logain.
