Durnham is a man who was previously in the King's Guard until Lady Milisair Chadmar disbanded them, after which he fell into begging. Min has a vision of him that he will be a leader in the Last Battle so Rand picks him to lead those who are going to restore Bandar Eban. He is initially bedraggled with an unkempt beard, but soon shaves to leave just a moustache.
