Emarin of House Pendaloan was a lesser Tairen nobleman. His elder brother was Algarin; they were very close.
After it became known that Emarin could channel, he was captured by Cadsuane and gentled in Tar Valon. Cadsuane helped him reconcile with it and he managed to live on for another ten years.
Because Emarin was able to channel, Algarin wants to be tested as well and leaves for the Black Tower.
