*;Why did you choose White?
When I first entered the Tower as a Novice, the Guesting system was just starting to get set up. I'm glad it did. I made a point of spending at least two weeks with each Ajah. Some I spent a little more time with than others. Ultimately, when I guested with the White Ajah it just felt like home. I enjoy the connections with the book Whites (logic and philosophy), but also the fact that we are diverse and bring our perspectives together in ways that help unify, rather than divide, us.

I thought early on that I would choose White or Gray. The guesting system was implemented just before I got raised, and I'm so glad that it did. I spent two weeks with each Ajah, going to Gray and White last. I did this because I wanted to make sure I went in to each guesting with an open mind and give myself the chance to really get to know people and the Ajahs. When I guested in White, there was no question. I just knew it was home. The balance of interests, personalities, abilities, and activity within the Ajah fit right in with myown personal style somehow, and I still feel strongly this way.

*;Are you like the Whites in the Books? Are you a logical woman with no time for emotion in her life?
Of course not. Having no emotion isn't logical. :-) Emotions help guide our decisions. Logic helps balance those decisions.
+
I am not entirely unlike the women in the books. I do like to debate questions of philosophy and truth. Unlike those in the book, though, I know that emotion is part of the truth about people. We have them. I try to use logic to solve problems that I have, but sometimes logic isn't the answer at all. People need more. Outside of that, I have quite a temper. So... yeah.

Honestly, no. I rarely pay attention to what Ajah Aes Sedai belong to.
+
Nope. I couldn't name you a single White from the books other than Alviarin, and she doesn't count. :)

*;How did you first get into the series?
I had a dungeon master who incorporated a number of aspects from the books into his system for Dungeons and Dragons. In fact, my character turned out to be a Wolf Sister! I asked him where these ideas came from, and he told me about the series. I picked up Eye of the World and was hooked!

I played Dungeons and Dragons in college, and our DM would incorporate elements from the series into the game, essentially devising his own system of powers and talents, etc. I wanted to know where these came from, and he pointed me to Eye of the World. Been hooked ever since.

*;Who is your favorite "hero"?
Depends on the book and storyline. Also might depend on who is included in the "hero" category. Faile and Aviendha are probably the tow that I have really enjoyed most consistently. There are some "lesser" characters that I like a lot: Bashere, Rhuarc, Birgitte, Flinn...
+
That one changes depending on the book and the situation. Rand might be my favorite in one part of the story and leave me hopelessly frustrated with his stupidity in another. Min, too. Especially since it's her fault Rand lost a hand. grrr. But Faile is probably my favorite the most consistently. She's strong and fierce and loyal doesn't spend half her time smoothing her skirts. She's a fighter and a leader.

*;Favorite bad guy/gal?
Meh. I know they're a necessary part of the books, but I usually find them all annoying because they're petty and obnoxious. Ishamael was extra annoying, but Moridin is pretty awesome.
+
I don't know. Most of them seem so petty and selfish and arrogant, it is difficult to actually like any of them, even in a "love to hate them" sort of way. I mostly just see them as obstacles. So I guess I don't have an opinion on this unless I got into some kind of discussion about it.

*'''Favorite book and scene?'''<br>

*;Favorite book and scene?
The Shadow Rising is probably my favorite of the books. Learning more about the Aiel and the related events really was fascinating. Really cool revelation. Favorite scene is much more difficult. Maybe the scene where Rand and Nynaeve cleanse the taint from Saidin.
+
I think The Shadow Rising is my favorite book. I felt like Rand really stepped out and became truly his own person in this book. Plus I liked delving into the Aiel history and whatnot. As for a favorite scene... Not in The Shadow Rising, but I think maybe my favorite single scene is when Egwene is summoned before the Hall to become Amyrlin.

*;If you were set down in Randland, who/what would you see yourself as?
Saldaean. Aes Sedai of the Green Ajah. But I would probably be out and about helping Reds with men who can channel and similar things. I wouldn't just be waiting for the Last Battle. Hopefully, I'd be good at Healing, too, since I like to help people, but don't want to dedicate my life to it.
+
Probably Aiel. I identify with the Maidens of the Spear and having the ability to fight in combat with, or without, weapons. Then again, I feel a strong connection to the Aes Sedai. Maybe I just want the ability to channel. Because the Saldaeans are considered to be horse people, I kind of identify with them, too. It's really a tough call.

I was doing a search for information on the Wheel of Time. I'm not sure what. It was a long time ago. I came upon the site, started discussing the books with people, and decided that I wanted to be an Aes Sedai, and that I wanted to earn the title as you have to do on this site.
+
Don't really remember. I can only assume I was searching for information on the series and stumbled onto this site. I poked around a little, joined in book discussion, liked the community feel, and decided to stick around. I also think that, because I truly had to earn my status, it is something that I value more highly than in other forum communities with which I've been involved.

I used to. :scratch I love music. I love dancing. I used to do belly dancing until my back was injured in a car accident. I enjoy making handmade cards using stamps and whatnot. I enjoy sewing sometimes. I love horses and horse racing. Nevertheless I seem to always just be on the computer. Oh! I play World of Warcraft.
+
I like to read. I play World of Warcraft. There are certain tv shows that I really enjoy. I like horse racing a lot, so I read up on the greats of the past, the up and comers. I love to try and guess winners, though I very rarely make an actual wager. I play Dungeons and Dragons with a local crew of people. I like logic puzzles.

*;What kind of music do you enjoy listening to?
Traditional Irish and other Celtic music, bits and pieces of almost every category of music except heavy metal and jazz. Dance, classical, Middle Eastern, Disney soundtracks, Billy Squier, pop, rock, sea shanties, reggae, Queen, Lady Gaga, --- My favorite band is a Newfoundland, Canada band called Great Big Sea.
+
Sea shanties, Irish traditional, Some Bollywood and Middle Eastern, Pop, Rock, Country. Basically just about anything that isn't heavy metal, non-swing/big band jazz, and opera. Otherwise I like some of pretty much everything. Oddly, I find myself having great admiration for Lady Gaga. However, Great Big Sea is my favorite band.

*'''A short bio about yourself'''<br>

Born April 2, 1971 in Annapolis, MD Raised in Virginia, Massachusetts and Connecticut. College in VA Moved back to Massachusetts. Played Dungeons and Dragons in college. Somehow got a degree in Communications. Spent lots of time in Irish pubs in Boston for the following 5 years; not drinking, playing with Irish musicians. Moved to Maryland and taught high school for 3 years. Loved the students. The "grown ups" sucked. Worked and lived at Pimlico Racetrack for 2 years, taking care of the racehorses. (It was a toss-up between this and signing on as a crewmember fo the sailing ship, The Bounty.) If I could have made my living at it, I'd have stayed. Major loss in salary and ability to keep up with technology, but totally worth it. Worked for an odd little IT company for 4 years. Now going through an online university for a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice. <br> Always loved horses. Did a lot of riding in my teens and in college. Little time for it after that, sadly. Had the sweetest dog in the word from 1989 to 1998. 9 sweet years. I still miss her. I am living with my boyfriend and our rescue dog, Finnagen. Meanwhile, I volunteer at the Baltimore Humane Society, working with the dogs. I am currently reading the Bible. (That sentence should be good for a loooong time, since it's taking me ages to make progress.)
