General

Garan is an Aiel man of the Jhirad sept of the Goshien Aiel.

Garan was taken as a gai'shain by a Maiden named Joinde. On the day before his last day as her gai'shain, Joinde makes a bridal wreath to lay at his feet. This is odd because Joinde is Shaarad, and the Goshien and Shaarad clans have a blood feud. Enaila comments that one or two Maidens lay down the spear to make bridal wreaths every day since they arrived in Rhuidean, and Rand knows that it is because he is ta'veren.
