During the Years FY, Garen was one of the kings of Dhowlan, which was located where Ghealdan now lies. He was involved in several wars with the neighboring nation of Farashelle.
There is a cliff in north-eastern Ghealdan that is today called "Garen’s Wall" because of the defense that it provided against Farashelle.
