General

Irgain Fatamed is an Aes Sedai of the Green Ajah who sides with Elaida. She is stilled by Rand al'Thor when he escapes at Dumai's Wells, and Verin thinks that Irgain likely wishes herself dead. Unlike the other Aes Sedai prisoners who were under Elaida's orders, she is not named da'tsang, but is dressed like an Aiel woman and made to work with them (The Path of Daggers, Prologue). The Aiel Wise Ones think that she has suffered enough; instead of beating her and the other two that were stilled, the Wise Ones have been working to keep them alive (Winter's Heart, Chapter 13).

Irgain's hair is not long enough to reach her waist (The Path of Daggers, Prologue). Nothing else is known of her appearance.

Timeline

-At Dumai's Wells, Rand stills three Aes Sedai as he breaks the shield of saidar (Lord of Chaos, Chapter 55).

-The other Aes Sedai prisoners try to stay away from the three who have been stilled (A Crown of Swords, Chapter 2).

-Verin asks for Irgain to be brought to her for questioning (The Path of Daggers, Prologue).

-Damer Flinn Heals Irgain. It is as if she was never stilled (Winter's Heart, Chapter 13).

-Alanna tells Rand that Irgain has sworn fealty to him (Winter's Heart, Chapter 25).

Miscellaneous

-One of Irgain's two Warders fell over dead from the shock of Irgain being stilled; it snaps the bond as surely as death. The other died trying to kill thousands of Aiel without making any effort to escape (The Path of Daggers, Prologue).

-Irgain begins to weep for her Warders almost as soon as she is Healed (Winter's Heart, Chapter 13).

-Irgain is ready to swear an oath to Rand after being Healed (Winter's Heart, Chapter 13).

-The Wise Ones look differently on Irgain, Sashalle and Ronaille than they do upon the other Aes Sedai (Crossroads of Twilight, Prologue).

-Sashalle writes a letter to the Red Ajah in the White Tower, in which she tells her Head of Ajah that she, Irgain Fatamed and Ronaille Vevanios have been Healed from Stilling by Damer Flinn (Knife of Dreams, Prologue).

Quotes

"Verin jerked back into the tent, her stomach roiling queasily. Irgain was Green Ajah. Or rather, had been Green, before Rand al'Thor stilled her. Being shielded dulled and fuzzed the bond to your Warder, but being stilled snapped it as surely as death. One of Irgain's two apparently had fallen over dead from the shock, and the other had died trying to kill thousands of Aiel without making any effort to escape. Very likely Irgain wished she also were dead." (Verin thinks of Irgain; The Path of Daggers, Prologue).

"The Wise Ones apparently decided that Rand had punished Irgain and the other two sufficiently when he...did what he did. At the same time they were treating the others like worthless animals, they have been working to keep those three alive." (Verin to Cadsuane; Winter's Heart, Chapter 13).

"Irgain knows all about the oaths the others swore. She started weeping for the loss of her Warders almost as soon as Damer finished with her, but she's ready to swear, too." (Corele to Cadsuane; Winter's Heart, Chapter 13).
