The Jangai pass is one of the passes through the Spine of the World, connecting Cairhien the Aiel Waste, just south of Kinslayer's dagger. On the Cairhienin side, a wind weathered snake, entwining a staff three hundred spans high can be seen just before Taien; on the other side, higher up, are apparently the remnants of docks,. According to Asmodean, these may be the remains of Shorelle (TFoH, Ch. 20). It is likely that it was through the Jangai pass that the Aiel first entered the Waste (TSR, Ch. 55).
