Elayne can't find her apartments for quite some time. Aviendha finds out she can tell the purpose of every ter'angreal but she needs to leave with the rest of the Aiel on Rand's command.
Summary
Elayne and her company are trying to find her apartment. Elayne fears that her wits are gone due to her pregnancy, because she knows the Royal Palace like her coat pocket and yet she cannot find the right way.
When they finally reach her apartments, Elayne's maids begin to clothe her and Aviendha for the meeting with the mercenary captains. Elayne then sees that Aviendha is carrying a dagger ter'angreal and asks her why she is so fascinated. Aviendha claims it will make one invisible to the Shadow, but that she hadn't said so as she thought she could be wrong. Elayne takes her to the stash of ter'angreal they retrieved from Ebou Dar and though hesitant at first, Aviendha is soon able to describe the purpose of all of them
At the end of the chapter Elayne and Aviendha have to part, because the Aiel are leaving Andor on Rand's command. Dorindha and Nadere take Aviendha with them, because she has been falling behind with her studies as an apprentice. They express disapproval that Elayne has no midwife and pressure her until she agrees to take one. Essande suggests her neice. Before she leaves, Elayne loans Aviendha the turtle angreal and the dream ter'angreal
