Why did you choose Green?
I’m passionate about the things that matter most to me. I’m a fighter, not in the classical sense. There have been times in my life where I have had to overcome obstacles and have the will and ‘fight’ to go on. As clichéd as it sounds, Green is home. I feel comfortable and like I belong; Green is who I am
Are you like the Greens in the books? Do you like to have fun with men? Are you a fierce warrior?
Not so much I don’t think, I see myself as a mix of book Green and White. I’m very passionate but also very logical and analytical. I’m not much of a party girl unless I want to dance and have fun. And I do get along with men. Am I a fierce warrior? Yes and no. I stick up for what I believe in and will defend that but I am reasonable and can always view both sides of the argument.
How long have you been a fan of the Wheel of Time series?
Since 2005.
How did you first get into the series?
I was 15 and completing my Year 10 school work experience at a book shop. I was working in the Sci-fi/Fantasy section. As I was working I would read the blurbs of any book that looked interesting and I spotted the series sitting there on the shelf. The rest as they say is history.
Who is your favorite "hero"?
Hero as in one of the three guys or general good character? I prefer Rand out of the 3 boys, most of the time. But my favourite character is Nynaeve, she’s stubborn like me.
Favorite bad guy/gal?
Moridin/Moghedien.
Favorite book and scene?
My favourite book is probably Eye of the World as it first introduced me to the characters. My favourite scene in the series is after Moghedien sends balefire into Nyanaeve’s boat. I love the scene where she finally surrenders herself.
If you were set down in Randland, who/what would you see yourself as? An Aes Sedai? Innkeeper? Seanchan Captain?
Probably an Aes Sedai.
How did you find TarValon.Net and what convinced you to stay and become a Senior Member?
I met a fellow member at University but she couldn’t convince me to join. Six months later she then introduced me to another member and I was given an ultimatum; create an account myself or they would and give me the most horrendous name and avatar. Safe to say I created my account that night. So it’s all Nyarin and Morrie’s fault :P
What do you do in "real life"?
I’m a trainee accountant/auditor, I’m 6 months into the job and I love it. I have another 3.5 years before I’m fully qualified, but this job suits me perfectly.
Do you have any hobbies?
I love to read, watch tv shows and films, I love listening to music and singing. I love baking creative cupcakes and cakes and other types of cooking. I can knit, though only scarves so far. I also enjoy painting and drawing with oil and chalk pastels.
What kind of music do you enjoy listening to?
Quite a lot! I like several genres but I love heavy rock/metal the most, favourite bands include Muse, Korn, Lacuna Coil, Within Temptation, System of a Down, 30 Seconds to Mars. I also love other genres; music such as Florence and the Machine, Adele, David Bowie and Snow Patrol. I could continue to list a lot more! Music is a huge part of my daily life, I don't go anywhere without my iPhone and headphones!
What are some of your favorite movies / television shows?
My favourite TV shows include Stargate SG1, Grey’s Anatomy, Torchwood, Bones, Merlin, Once upon a Time, Glee, Sherlock, Buffy the Vampire Slayer…again I could list a ton more! My favourite films, gosh I have a lot of DVD’s and lots of favourites including; Fifth Element, Labyrinth, Lethal Weapon, Die Hard, Ever After, Spirited Away, LoTR, Matrix Trilogy, Star Wars, and Tangled.
Aside from The Wheel of Time, what are a few of your favorite books/series?
I’m a huge fan of Trudi Canavan all her books are wonderful especially the Black Magician trilogy. Sara Douglass’ Axis trilogy and subsequent trilogies. David Eddings’ The Belgariad. I love The Thief with No Shadow and The Laurentine Spy by Emily Gee. And I’m addicted to the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton. There are probably books/series’ that I’ve forgotten as there are so many fantastic authors out there!
What profession did you want to have when you were a kid?
I recently discovered a school project that I did when I was 10; ‘All about me’, and it actually has the question “what do you want to be when you’re older?” I answered either a Doctor or an Accountant. I can’t stand the sight of blood so I think it must be fate that I’ve fallen into a job training to be an accountant!
