Lothair Mantelar was the founder of the Children of the Light (TWoRJTWoT, Ch. 25).
In FY 1021, at the beginning of the War of the Hundred Years, he established the Children as preachers against Darkfriends and the Shadow (TWoRJTWoT, Ch. 25).
He wrote the book "The Way of the Light", which plays a factor in making Galad become a Child later (TSR, Ch. 17).
