Maerion was a name that Birgitte Silverbow was known by in one of her past lives (The Fires of Heaven, Chapter 36).
While Birgitte, Elayne and Nynaeve are traveling with Valan Luca's circus, Birgitte goes by the name of Maerion (The Fires of Heaven, Chapter 36).
Birgitte tells Elayne that she doesn't know if she can live up to being "Birgitte", a woman of legend, in the real world; in all of her other lives, she just did what she had to do, and it was enough for Maerion, or Joana, or any other woman (Lord of Chaos, Chapter 40).
