Akir Mandragoran: The last King of Malkier. He was Lain's brother, Leanna's husband and Lan's father. He died defending his country against overwhelming Trolloc armies.

Andere: A lean, dangerous looking man; one of the first four men to join Lan en route to the Last Battle

Bulen: A messenger boy 20 years ago, his father was Malkieri; the first one to join Lan en route to the Last Battle

Breyan Mandragoran: A noblewoman. Lain's wife and Isam's mother; Lan's aunt. Because she wanted the throne of Malkier to belong to her husband, she plotted with Cowin Gemallan against al'Akir. They stripped down the borderposts to seize the Seven Towers, giving the Trollocs a chance to pour into Malkier. She and her son vanished when the Trollocs overran Malkier.

Bukama Marenellin: One of the twenty men sent to see the infant Lan safe to Fal Moran, Shienar. He and four others survived as far as Fal Moran and raised Lan; he was the last one of them to survive. He was also called Hero of Salmarna. He was killed by Ryne Venamar in 'New Spring' on the orders of Merean Redhill.

Cowin Gemallan/Fairheart: A famous nobleman and a Darkfriend. He and Breyan stripped down the Borderforts to seize the Seven Towers, which gave the Trolloc hordes an opportunity to overrun Malkier. After his treachery was revealed, he was captured by Jain Farstrider and killed by al'Akir in a single combat.

Edeyn ti Gemallen Arrel: A noblewoman and Lan's carneira. Her daughter was Iselle. Edeyn wanted to reclaim Malkier, but she lost interest after her daughter's death.

Gorenellin: A merchant. He pledges to ride with Lan to Tarmon Gai'don.

Isam Mandragoran: A nobleman; Breyan and Lain's son. When the Trollocs overran Malkier, he and his mother disappeared and were thought dead. Isam, however, is mentioned in the Dark Prophecy and lives on as the being Slayer, a twisted, evil merging of him and Luc Mantear.

Iselle Arrel: A noblewoman; Edeyn Arrel's daughter. She was killed by Merean Redhill in 'New Spring.'

Jain Charin/Farstrider: A famous writer and traveler. Shortly before Malkier fell, he brought the Darkfriend Cowin Gemallan to the Seven Towers in chains. He vanished after a trip into the Blight, but is believed to have returned as Noal Charin. He has agreed to go to the Tower of Ghenjei as

Lain Mandragoran: A nobleman. He was Breyan's husband and Isam's father as well as al'Akir's brother and Lan's uncle. On a dare from his wife, he led his lances into the Blight, where he was killed.

Lan Mandragoran: Nynaeve al'Meara's husband. He is the son of al'Akir and el'Leanna Mandragoran, and is thus the Uncrowned King of Malkier. His titles include Lord of the Seven Towers, Lord of the Lakes, and true Blade of Malkier. He was Moiraine Damodred's Warder until her disappearance; then, his bond was passed over to Myrelle Berengari. He is now Warder to his wife and poised at Tarwin's Gap with an army having proclaimed himself as King of Malkier.

Leanna Mandragoran: The last Queen of Malkier. She was al'Akir's wife and Lan's mother.

Managan: A merchant. He pledges to ride with Lan to Tarmon Gai'don.

Nacelle Kayama: An Aes Sedai of the Green Ajah. She is aligned with the rebel Aes Sedai. She discovered a weave to detect a man channeling. She was a member of the Black Ajah.

Nazar Kurenin: A soldier. He has adopted Kandori ways. He has white hair and must be approaching his 70th year; one of the first 4 men to join Lan en route to the Last Battle

Ryne Venamar: A merchant's guard and Darkfriend. He adopted Arafellin ways. He was killed by Lan in 'New Spring.'

Shevar Jamelle:

Weilin Aldragoran: A reputable merchant from Malkier with his main focus on gems. He has adopted Saldaean ways and is married to Alida, a Saldaean. Nynaeve demands of him to send out a message that says Lan is riding for Tarmon Gai'don. He pledges to ride with him.
