When Perrin and company wish to cross the River Alguenya on the second day of the Feast of Lights in order to rescue Rand from the Aes Sedai who have captured him, Manal is reluctant to leave the festivities; when Perrin approaches him, he is on his deck and has a gray-haired, minor noblewoman sitting on his knees.
