Marya Somares was an Aes Sedai of the Gray Ajah. During the Aiel War, she served as the Tower's representative in the decision-making council of The Grand Alliance of nations that were battling the Aiel. Marya was advised by Azil Mareed, the Commander of the Tower Guard.
