Mendao was a Shienaran soldier.
He was one of the men who were sent forth to bring back the Horn of Valere in Chapter 9 of The Great Hunt and who was sent by Moiraine to meet someone in Jehennah in Chapter 6 of The Dragon Reborn, even though he was not mentioned at the time.
Uno tells Nynaeve that Mendao was killed in a duel with three Hunters for the Horn.
