Mishael is one of the Sea Folk and husband to Shalon din Togara Morning Tide.
Shalon misses her husband and due to her loneliness contracts a relationship with Ailil Riatin. When Cadsuane finds out about it, she wants Shalon to spy on Harine, for which Cadsuane will keep Shalon's secret. Shalon is not sure how she can spy on her sister and avoid being stripped off her position. She is afraid Mishael might declare their marriage vows as broken if he finds out about Ailil.
