General
Sohima is one of the major cities in Seanchan; it is the seventh largest (TWoRJTWoT). It lies on the western part of the landmass in the north, at the foot of a mountain range (Map).
Furyk Karede lost everything in the Great Fires of Sohima, among others his wife, a son and Tuon's doll (CoT, Ch. 4; KoD, Ch. 36).
