Who am I

Hi, I'm Hanna (31yrs), one of the newer folk here. I joined tv.net August 2006 and became Brown Aes Sedai in the autumn 2007 (don't remember the date). I live in Helsinki, Finland's capital city with my hubby (who's a classical music producer at a culture festival) and son Eino (born 9. dec 2007). I'm working as a Coordinator of Contemporary Classical Music at Finnish Music Information Centre and beginning to plan my doctoral thesis. Hobbies include reading and dancing. I'd love to do more sports but don't have time at the moment.

Why are you not __ Ajah?

I guested with all Ajahs. My system was a bit different from most of my friend accepted; I made a decision to take as much time as I felt was good with all the ajahs (most people set up a limit, like 2 weeks or so). Then I decided I'd always drop the one that didn't feel as good as the other one, so I always stayed in the Ajah I felt more comfortable in.

Unfortunately I hit a wall quite early in the process. I started with Gray and White, and it was easy enough: Gray wasn't my home. Then I stayed in White and left Gray and came here. It was SO hard for me to decide between White and Brown, and when I left White (just because I'd been there longer, at that time) I was certain I'd have to decide between White and Brown anyway. And so it was.

What made me choose Brown then? I can't really say what it is but it's part of the athmosphere here that finally felt more like me. I still think I have a HUGE White stripe, and I love to hang out with them, but ... well I am Brown, not White.

Very helpful, I know.

What is your Tower name?

Taika Vinh

When were you raised to Aes Sedai of the Brown Ajah?

Just a couple of weeks ago.

Why did you choose Brown?

I guested with all the Ajahs, and Brown felt most like home.

Are you like the Browns in the Books?

I have some of their traits, but as all the Ajahs are very stereotypical in the books, I wouldn't say I'm just like them.

Do you love books and do you daydream a lot?

It depends on the book. I read a lot and love to research, but just topics that interest me. I'm definitely not a daydreamer, but I can become quite absorbed in my studies or the book I'm reading, and not notice what happens around me.

How was your time as Citizen/Novice/Accepted?

I enjoyed all the stages.

How long have you been a member of TV.net?

A bit more than a year.

What things do you do for TV.net?

I've been helping with the Brown Bulletin, and also helped with my HoA. Mostly Ajah stuff, but I've taken part in many classes too.

How did you get to read the Series?

I was in Sweden studying, and I wanted to read something in my mother tongue, Finnish. The selection of Finnish books in the Gothenburg library wasn't too big, so I ended up borrowing the EotW. But I gave it up as a bad book, because the translations were crap. Later I started again in English, and got hooked straight away.

To whom are you bonded, if you're bonded?

I'm not bonded.

Who is your mentee, if you have one?

I don't have a mentee yet.

Who is your favorite character of the Series? Favorite Nation?

I like Mat and Tuon maybe most. The Seanchan as a nation are interesting, and so are the Aiel.

Have you ever attended any Real Life Functions? Did you like them if you did, and why? (Why do you think people should come to any future functions?)

I've been to Euro summer party last August. I loved it, because it's nice to get to know people from different countries. I think people should come to TV.net functions because this is a RL-based community, and meeting is part of knowing people.

What kind of music do you like?

Classical. More spesificly tone colour and spectre-based music from the earlier part of 20th century.

What are your favorite movies?

I don't go to movies much, but I've liked Kieslowski's pictures.

What is the craziest/stupidest thing you've ever done?

Can't remember...

What job do you have?

I'm a flute teacher in a music institute.

Do you have a pet?

No.

What languages do you speak?

Finnish, English, Swedish, some German and a little bit Russian.

What profession did you want to have when you were a kid?

Street-cleaning machine driver. :p

Seanchan or Shara?

Seanchan (because their society interests me more)

Verin or Adeleas?

Verin.

Board games or computer games?

Board games.

Coke or Pepsi?

I really don't like either.

A short bio about yourself.

I'm 29-year-old flute teacher and musicology student from Helsinki Finland. I live in the city centre with my hubby, and soon we're going to have a third member in the family (due time's Nov 24th). My hobbies (which I can't do right now because of the big belly) are Irish dancing and classical ballet. Reading is a lifestyle, not a hobby. :p
