Talmour was one of the nations of the Free Era. It was located in the southeastern part of the Westlands. To the north was Khodomar, with the Spine of the World to the east, Moreina to the south, Fergansea to the southeast, and Esandara to the east. Eventually, this area of land became what is now Haddon Mirk.

In 943 FY, Talmour was in danger of falling to Guaire Amalasan. In the spring of this year, Artur Hawkwing was moving south out of Tova, across the Maraside Mountains, to join the fighting in Khodomar.

In the spring of FY 944, after Guaire Amalasan had been captured and Artur Hawkwing had begun to conquer the nations of the Free Era, Talmour sent men to aid Khodomar, which was falling to Hawkwing, but it was to no avail.

By FY 963, Talmour had fallen to Hawkwing.

Throughout the series, there are a couple of mentions of Talmour.

One of the legendary Hunters for the Horn (and also a Hero of the Horn), Rogosh Eagle-eye, was from Talmour (The Eye of the World, Chapter 17).

Birgitte remarks that Talmouri maidens were very proper (Winter's Heart, Chapter 12).
