Tam al'Thor is one of the characters in the book and television series The Wheel of Time. In the TV show, Tam is played by the Irish actor Michael McElhatton.

General
Tam al'Thor is a sheepherder and farmer from the Two Rivers. He has a farm near the edge of the Two Rivers where he lives with his son Rand. His wife, Kari, died when Rand was still very young.
Each year he delivers wool to the village of Emond's Field. He also makes homemade brandy, which he brings on festivals, such as Bel Tine.
He has a heronmarked sword, which he is skilled in using.
Appearance
Tam is of middle age with graying hair and short beard. He has clear blue eyes.
Personality
Tam is very gentle and calm. He speaks wisely and the other villagers respect him for his demeanor.
Timeline
Season 1
In Episode 1 Tam and Rand take some brandy to Emond's Field. In the town, Tam leaves the brandy in the Winespring Inn. During the evening, Tam drinks along with the rest of the Two Rivers folk in the inn when Moiraine and Lan arrive. Later he shares with the innkeeper that having an Aes Sedai in the Two Rivers is strange.
On the next day Tam and Rand go back to their farm where they light a candle for Bel Tine. Later, the farm is attacked by a Trolloc and Tam fights it with his sword, but gets wounded in the process. In the morning, Tam is brought to Emond's Field by Rand and is Healed by Moiraine.
