Tamaav is one of the Clan Chiefs from one of Aviendha's visions of the future in the glass columns ter'angreal in Rhuidean, twenty years after the Seanchan gained the Andoran war machines. He tells the others in the meeting of the survivors of the Council of Twenty Two that the White Tower has fallen. When they are discussing what to do, he says that surrender would make them gai'shain, meaning without honour, and asks Ladalin for her advice.
