Welcome back to the TarValon.Net Library Resources series. Our previous Editor, Atarah al'Norahn began this series back in 2019. She shared with us resources for The Brown Ajah, the San d’ma Shadar Company, the Citizens of TarValon.Net, Accepted & Soldiers and The Gray Ajah. Today we continue this tradition by sharing with you the TarValon.Net Library Resources for (and about) Novices & Recruits.
Novices & Recruits at TarValon.Net
When Citizens apply to join the Tower, they must choose between becoming a Novice or a Recruit. TarValon.Net does not apply any restrictions to either path and encourages all members to choose whichever they are more comfortable with. The Membership Manual for Novices and Recruits contains a wealth of information. The Membership Administrator for Novices and Recruits is the Master/Mistress of Novices and Recruits. They are the first port of call for any and all questions that new Tower members may have. The current Mistress of Novices and Recruits is Qamra Daielin. Qamra can be found in The Mistress of Novices and Recruits Office, and for the latest scoop on the MoNsteR check out our most recent Member Spotlight.

Novices & Recruits in The Wheel of Time

If you’d like some more canon information about Novices in The Wheel of Time the TarValon.Net Library, there is an article with everything you could ever want to know about Novices. There you can find out about the training which Novices undertake as well as information about punishments, classes, their quarters, fun and pranks. For those who would like more information about the Novice Dress, there’s an article for that too. You can even follow the pattern to make your own! There is also a full list of all the characters ever to become Novices.
As with the Soldiers there is no direct counterpart to our Recruit rank in The Wheel of Time series however you can see a character list of younglings those who came to the Tower seeking to become Gaidin to an Aes Sedai.
