Tarmon Gai'don (Poem)
Author: Alondrian Heartsbane
Let the dragon ride the winds of time
The time has come again
For what was, what is, and what will be
Time and pattern will bend.
From the eye of the world he knew his fate
And the horn of valor rings
The heroes will come with they be too late?
Shall the world see a new spring?
The Wolf king picked up his hammer
The Fox married the Raven too
The Dragon in the mouth of madness
The battle song rings true.
The forces of dark
Meet the forces of light
Will the world be renewed?
Or turned into the blight?
Push the spears
To the oncoming hordes
The last embrace of the mother
Peace favor your swords.
Battle rages and men are slain
Swords flash and the power spews
Those left standing, and few remain
The battle is left for them to see it through.
The grave is no bar to my call
And the heroes that were summoned arise,
As the hordes of darkness falls
Is this the end of the father of lies?
The Golden Crain flies
The uncrowned King leads the field
Under his kingly sword men fight and die
The hope of the seven towers to rebuild.
Victory is at hand
The retched screams are the song in the air
Yet one more challenge lies before Rand
He must fight the Dark-One in his own lair.
Light bless the Dragon as he goes to meet his fate,
The blood of the Dragon with seal the prison
Of the father of death and hate,
Live or die in madness to cry he must fulfill his mission.
In Shayol Ghual the fight will rage
A battle of triumph or ultimate loss
A hope for light still lingers, to see another age.
But all to see is only organized chaos.
And though he may meet his end
And many more will cry
The wheel will turn him out again
Because Dragons never die.
