Summary

Egwene works, glad that Silviana is an effective Keeper and seems to be accepted by both the loyalists and the Reds. Romanda and Lelaine still trouble her, arguing about what to do with the captured damane. She notes that sixty Black Ajah escaped the Tower, though they had captured three not on Verin's list and that nearly forty initiates, including over two dozen Aes Sedai had been captured in the Seanchan raid. She looks through all the Aes Sedai that are identified and thinks only three could be Mesaana, but all three are weak in the Power and have been in the Tower many years. She concludes that Mesaana probably found some way of avoiding admitting being a Darkfriend when swearing on the Oath Rod. Silviana takes her to the Hall, she is having a window fitted where the Seanchan broke through. She is shown a break in the clouds, sunlight streaming from the top of Dragonmount onto Rand, though she does not see him. They take this as a good sign of things to come.
