The Towers of Midnight are thirteen fortresses located in Imfaral in Seanchan. At the time of the consolidation, they were a center of military might and the final battle of the consolidation took place there, since when they have been unoccupied. They are made from unpolished black marble, their tall blocks rough hewn to give a primal feeling (ToM, Ch. 1). A legend states that in a time of dire need, the imperial family will return there and "right that which is wrong" (This passage needs a reference).
