Urin din Jubai Soaring Gull was a scholar of the Sea Folk who lived at the end of the War of the Hundred Years. In the glossaries his name is spelled Uren din Jubai.

Because the death and destruction were very extensive during the War of the Hundred Years, Urin din Jubai developed a new calendar beginning from the end of the war. This calendar was published and named after the Panarch Farede of Tarabon, and was in general use as from fifty years later until today. The numbering system NE used in the Farede Calendar stands for "New Era"
