General

Weilin Aldragoran is a reputable merchant from Malkier with his main focus on gems. He is married to Alida, a Saldaean.

He was an infant when the Trollocs ran down Malkier and his accents are more those of Saldaea, but he wears the hadori his uncles gave him. He has a violent reputation.

He is known throughout the Borderlands for his flawless stones, but he trades other things as well.

He trades gems with two Illianer merchants before Nynaeve appears. He was pointed out to her as a merchant with wide correspondence by pigeon, which she wants to use to send out a message concerning Lan riding for Tarmon Gai'don. He will send the message, however many pigeons it requires, since he is no fool to break a word he gives an Aes Sedai, and he pledges to ride with Lan toward Tarwin's Gap.

He joins up with Lan in Kandor close to the border with Arafel (ToM, Ch. 23).
