Overview

The Assistant to the Director of Research and Records is a staff role in the Department of Research and Records. They are responsible for aiding the Director of Research and Records with organizing and, sometimes, leading different projects within the Department.

Position Level: Staff

Department: Department of Research and Records

Rotation: 12 month rotation

Merit Eligibility: Staff Merit

Chain of Command

The Assistant reports directly to the Director of Research and Records.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities vary depending on the needs and desires of the Director.

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing the Editors and giving them tasks when necessary.
  • Editing the TarValon.Net Library.
  • Participating in the brainstorming, planning, and execution stages of projects within the department.

Expectations

  • Must be an active member in good standing with the community.
  • Must know Wiki formatting or be willing to learn.
  • Regular communication with the Director is expected for smooth work.

Time Commitment

Variable. Dependent on expectations of current Director, but expect at least two to three hours per week, some weeks less or more.

Qualifications

  • Must have been a member of the site for at least six months.

  • Familiarity with the site Library is preferable.
  • Must be well-organized and a self-starter.
