Bulen is Lan's errand boy in the Aesdaishar Palace in the "New Spring" novel.
He is described as a lanky young fellow (NS, Ch. 22).

- He gapes at Lan's helmet, breast- and back plates as he ses them on the black-lacquered rack beside the door of Lan's apartment (NS, Ch. 22).
- He gives Lan's boots their 'much-needed' blacking (NS, Ch. 22).
- He is sent to check if the stables followed Lan's instructions on Cat Dancer (NS, Ch. 22).
- He stays on Lan's side while Anya and Esne rather follow Edeyn's instructions (NS, Ch. 26).
