Gwil is a man who lives in the Two Rivers. He is a few years older then Perrin, and used to take Perrin hunting rabbits with him.
When Perrin and Faile have their manor built, he takes on a position as a footman. Faile is put out because she tries to train servants, but Perrin just sees them as men to laugh with and have a mug of ale with. Faile tries to explain to Perrin that Gwil is trying to learn how to be a footman, and that Perrin isn't helping him by inviting him to smoke his pipe and go to the stables with him to talk about horses.
