Berelain is upset that Rand wants to send her away for her protection, thinking he will forget her service if he does so. Cadsuane arrives and is rude to Rand. She is annoyed when he is even ruder in return. She dismisses Berelain and tells Rand that she has faced more men who can channel than any other Aes Sedai, although she doesn't look for them. She asks if he hears voices, saying it is common amongst men who are going mad, which worries him. She then leaves with Annoura and Merana.
