Cadsune meets some Aes Sedai and thinks about the Aiel. Min is told of the death of Herid Fel.
Summary
Merana's Point of View:
Characters: Cadsuane, Merana, Annoura, Corele, Bera, Kiruna
Setting: Cairhien
Merana worries about explaining things to Cadsuane. She diffidently asks what her intentions are and is surprised when Annoura is more abrupt. They are asked about "the vileness" after the Aiel War and she doesn't understand. Annoura replies that she was trying to maintain the grand coalition, which impressed Merana who was also involved. Corele brings Bera and Kiruna from Sorilea and Cadsuane directs her questions to them. She criticizes them for rebelling against Elaida, but Bera points out that all sisters were instructed to return and Cadsuane has not. She then questions them extensively, showing displeasure only at Alanna for having bonded Rand.
Rand's Point of View:
Setting: The Sun Palace
Min visits Rand and is told of Herid Fel's death. They comfort each other.
Cadsuane's Point of View:
Characters: Cadsuane
Setting: The Sun Palace
Cadsuane thinks on how the Aiel should be sending many girls to the Tower and how that must be remedied eventually. She is surprised at the look of contempt they give Aes Sedai.
